How to Know Which One You Need
Installation and replacement are the same job: putting in a new unit. The only real difference is what’s coming out first.
New construction, an addition, or a space that’s never had ductwork? That’s an installation. An existing system that’s failing, outdated, or costing more to repair than it’s worth? That’s a replacement, same install process, just swapping out what’s already there.
Either way: one crew, one sizing process, one honest quote.

How We Quote Your Installation
Every installation quote is in person, on site, and in writing before any commitment. Your price depends on system size, efficiency tier, ductwork condition, and any electrical upgrades your home needs. We walk you through each line so you can compare it against any other quote.
What we quote on site is what you pay. No “we found something” calls from the attic.
Financing available through Wisetack. See financing options →
our process
From Quote to Walkthrough
In-home quote and Manual J.
We measure your home, inspect the ductwork and static pressure, run a Manual J load calculation, and give you a written quote before any commitment.
Removal (replacements only).
The old condenser, air handler or furnace, line set, and thermostat come out. Refrigerant is reclaimed per EPA.
New equipment and electrical.
Outdoor condenser, indoor air handler or evaporator coil, new line set, and new thermostat, plus a new disconnect and whip, breaker check, terminal torque, and refrigerant charge to spec.
Verification.
Subcool and superheat dialed in, static pressure verified, airflow measured at registers, thermostat programmed.
Walkthrough.
How to operate it, when to change the filter, what your warranty covers, and what to call us for.
Most residential jobs finish in a day; ductwork or electrical upgrades can make it two. In summer we arrive early, typically 7–8 a.m., to work ahead of the heat. Permitting is included where required, and we clean up the site and haul away the old equipment before we leave.

Single-Stage, Two-Stage, or Variable-Speed
We install American Standard, Goodman, and Amana, and we’ll recommend a tier based on your load, your budget, and how long you plan to stay in the house.
Single-stage.
Lowest upfront cost, simplest equipment to service. Good fit for tight budgets or shorter ownership horizons.
Two-stage.
A step up in upfront cost, with real gains in humidity removal, quieter operation, and longer cycle times. Sweet spot for most Phoenix homes staying in place 7+ years.
Variable-speed (inverter).
The highest upfront cost of the three, and it pays back over time on larger homes or premium builds.
We won’t push you up a tier. If single-stage is the right call for your house, that’s what we’ll quote.

How We Size Your System
Sizing is the single most common reason a Phoenix AC install fails early.
An oversized unit short-cycles. It hits temperature fast, shuts off, and never runs long enough to pull humidity out of the air. An undersized unit runs constantly through July and August and burns through compressor life chasing a setpoint it can’t hit.
We run a proper Manual J, the industry-standard room-by-room load calculation. It factors square footage and ceiling height, window count, size, and orientation, sun exposure, insulation R-values, air infiltration, and occupant count. Most Phoenix homes land in the 2.5-5 ton range. We’ll show you the calc and the number we’re sizing to before you sign anything.

AC Installation & Replacement FAQs
How long do AC units last in Phoenix?
Ten to twelve years is the honest answer. A Phoenix AC runs 7+ months a year, often through 115° afternoons and monsoon dust. If your system is 10+ years old and facing a major repair, replacement is usually the smarter long-term call. We’ll do the math with you on site.
Which brands do you install?
American Standard (Customer Care Dealer), Goodman (Certified Dealer), and Amana (authorized dealer). We service every major residential brand beyond these. If you have a preference, tell us.
What warranty comes with a new system?
Registered American Standard and Goodman installs carry a 10-year parts warranty, with 10-12 years on the compressor depending on tier. Our workmanship warranty on the install is 2 years. We register your equipment with the manufacturer the same day; unregistered units typically default to 5-year parts coverage.
What’s the difference between SEER and SEER2?
Both measure cooling efficiency; higher number, less electricity to cool the same space. SEER2 replaced SEER in 2023 with a tougher test that better reflects how systems perform with real ductwork. 14.3 SEER2 is the current federal minimum in this region. 15-16 SEER2 is the sweet spot for most Phoenix homes.
Do I really need a Manual J load calculation?
Yes. It’s the industry standard for sizing, and a guessed-tonnage install burns through compressor life and fails early.
Should I replace the indoor and outdoor unit together?
Yes. The manufacturer requires matched indoor/outdoor pairing for the warranty. Mixing a new condenser with an old evaporator coil creates capacity mismatches and can void warranty claims.
Do I need new ductwork too?
Usually not. Most Phoenix homes have ducts that need sealing or partial repair, not full replacement. We measure static pressure and inspect during the quote so you’ll see the data.
What if I already bought a unit somewhere else and just need it installed?
We install the equipment we quote and select for your home, so we don’t install units purchased elsewhere. If you already own equipment, call us and we’ll talk through your options honestly.
Do you handle the permit?
Yes. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and meet the inspector.
Can I finance the install?
Yes. Financing is available through Wisetack. See financing options →
What if I’m getting other quotes?
Send it to us. If a quote is meaningfully lower than ours, one of three things is usually true: the equipment tier is different, the scope is different, or the install is likely to cost you more later. We’ll walk through any quote with you, honestly.
