Emergency AC Repair
Emergency AC Repair in Scottsdale & Phoenix.
No-cool calls go to the top of our schedule.
Call early and we’ll work to get a technician to you the same day. Every visit starts with a diagnosis, and you get a written price before any work begins. Most no-cool calls are fixed in one visit, with capacitors, contactors, and fan motors carried on the truck.

Why the Crew That Shows Up Matters
Maricopa Air has repaired residential and commercial cooling systems across the Valley since 1975. Our technicians diagnose heat-related failures every summer, and our trucks carry the parts that fail most often here. That’s why most no-cool calls are fixed in one visit.
We answer calls Monday–Friday, 7am–6pm. If you call after hours, leave a message and we’ll call you back first thing when we open. If it’s a health or safety emergency, call 911.

How Pricing Works on a Priority Call
Same diagnostic visit and same pricing as any other service call. There’s no surcharge for priority service. You get a written price on site before we touch anything, and what we quote is what you pay.
If the repair-versus-replace math points to a new system, financing is available through Wisetack on qualifying projects. See financing options →
our process
What Happens When You Call
You call (480) 941-3945
We take your address, ask what the system is doing, and give you an honest sense of when we can get there.
We send a technician
We text you when they’re on the way.
On-site diagnostic
A full walk of the system: thermostat, refrigerant pressures, electrical, airflow, both coils, drain line.
Quote, then repair
Written cost on site before we touch anything. Most common failures get fixed that visit.
Verification before we leave
Pressures, temps, and airflow read where they should.
While you wait: Turn the system off at the thermostat; use the breaker only if the thermostat won’t shut it off, or if you smell burning. If the indoor coil is iced over, keep the system off and let it thaw. Move pets and anyone vulnerable to the coolest room, and keep windows closed during the day, since Phoenix outdoor temps stay above safe indoor temps until well after sundown. Watch for heat illness: dizziness, headache, nausea, confusion. If anyone shows signs, call 911 first, then us.

What Counts as an Emergency
If you’re not sure whether it warrants a priority call, here’s the practical line. When in doubt, call. We’ll be straight about whether it can wait for a scheduled visit.
Call now if:
- System won’t cool at all, indoor temps climbing past 85°
- Vents blowing warm air on a 100°+ day
- Loud grinding, screeching, or buzzing from the condenser or air handler
- Electrical burning smell from the unit or vents
- Repeatedly tripping the breaker
- Water leaking inside from the air handler
- Anyone in the home is vulnerable to heat (infants, elderly, anyone with cardiovascular or respiratory conditions)
Standard service is fine if:
- System is cooling but not as well as usual
- Noises started recently but the system is still working
- You noticed an issue this morning and it’s currently mild outside

Home Warranty, Insurance, or Us?
Most home warranties cover the repair itself but cap what they’ll pay, exclude refrigerant, and require you to use their dispatched contractor on their timeline. If your warranty company can get a tech to you before the house hits unsafe temperatures, use them. If they can’t, call us. We’ll get you running and give you an itemized invoice you can submit for partial reimbursement.
Homeowner’s insurance usually doesn’t cover mechanical failure. It typically covers sudden damage events, not equipment that wears out from age. We can document the failure for a claim if there’s an insurable cause.

Emergency AC Repair FAQs
Do you dispatch overnight?
We prioritize no-cool calls during business hours (Monday–Friday, 7am–6pm) and work to get you seen the same day. We don’t send a crew out in the middle of the night. If it’s a life-safety emergency, call 911.
Is there a surcharge for priority service?
No. Same diagnostic visit, same pricing as any service call.
Can you fix it the same day?
Most single-component failures, yes: capacitors, contactors, fan motors, drain line clears. Refrigerant leak repairs, coil replacements, and compressor work sometimes need to be scheduled for the next business day. We’ll be clear on the diagnostic about what’s possible same-visit.
Do you work on all brands?
Yes, Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Bryant, York, Amana, American Standard, Goodman, and the rest. Parts availability varies; we’ll be straight about lead times.
My AC is iced over. Should I keep it running?
No. Shut it off at the thermostat and let it thaw. Running a frozen system damages the compressor. Then call us.
What if I’m not sure it’s actually an emergency?
Call us. If the issue can safely wait, we’ll say so and book you in for standard service. We won’t talk you into a priority call you don’t need.
Will my home warranty cover an emergency AC repair?
Sometimes. Most home warranties cap what they’ll pay, exclude refrigerant, and require their own contractor. If they can’t get a tech to you in time, call us and we’ll give you an itemized invoice for reimbursement.
Will my homeowner’s insurance cover an emergency AC repair?
Usually not for mechanical failure. We can document the failure for a claim if there’s an insurable cause.
What if my system needs to be replaced?
We’ll show you the repair-versus-replace math on site. Financing is available through Wisetack on qualifying projects. See financing options →
