Commercial Refrigeration

Commercial Refrigeration in the valley

Repair, installation, and maintenance for walk-ins, coolers, and ice machines across the Phoenix Metro Area.

From a team that’s worked on walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and reach-in equipment across the Valley since 1975. Real diagnostics, upfront pricing.

Refrigeration Service Valley Businesses Count On

When a walk-in goes down, you’re suddenly racing to save inventory and keep product safe. In a 115° Phoenix summer, a walk-in without refrigeration warms quickly, and product can move out of safe holding temperatures within hours.

Maricopa Air has worked commercial refrigeration across the Valley since 1975 for restaurants, breweries, property managers, and businesses of every size in between, including OHSO Brewery’s locations. We’re independent, licensed, bonded, and insured, and our technicians are EPA 608 certified. We know what’s on the line when you call.

What’s Actually at Stake When Commercial Refrigeration Fails

The math operators don’t always run before a failure:

Inventory loss on a fully-stocked walk-in. Typically runs $5,000-$25,000 depending on capacity and what’s loaded.

Revenue loss from closed doors. For a busy Phoenix restaurant, a single closed shift can mean $8,000-$20,000 in lost revenue.

Compressor replacement on unplanned timing. Often runs $4,000-$15,000, often during peak operating hours, often without warning.

Refrigerant cost on aging systems. R-22 systems have been replacement-only since the 2020 production ban, and recharges keep getting more expensive. R-404A is currently on the AIM Act phasedown.

Our Commercial Refrigeration Services

The equipment we repair, install, and maintain for Valley businesses. We service every major manufacturer, including Heatcraft, Bohn, True, Continental, Hoshizaki, and Manitowoc.

Walk-in Cooler & Freezer Service.

Repair, installation, and priority response on walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers. Compressor failures, refrigerant leaks, defrost system issues, door seal repair, condenser fan replacement.

Reach-in coolers and freezers, prep tables, sandwich units, merchandiser cases, deli cases, undercounter units, and worktop refrigeration.

Ice machine repair, installation, cleaning, and descaling. We service Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Scotsman, Ice-O-Matic, and every other commercial ice equipment manufacturer. Arizona water hardness shortens ice machine life, so scheduled cleaning matters more here than in most markets.

Our team is particular about ice. Hoshizaki is the brand we recommend and prefer to work on: consistent cube quality, durable components, and equipment that holds up to Phoenix water and heat. If you’re replacing an ice machine or opening a new location, ask us about Hoshizaki.

Repair, maintenance, and installation for commercial split systems, including bar coolers and reach-in setups that run on split condensing units.

Repair and maintenance for evaporative cooling systems used in commercial spaces and outdoor/patio areas.

Installation, repair, and service of dedicated wine cellar cooling systems: WhisperKool, CellarPro, US Cellar Systems, and others.

Repair, Retrofit, or Replace?

It depends on the equipment, its age, and how often it’s failing. R-22 production stopped in 2020 and recycled supply gets more expensive every year. We’ll walk through the math on each piece of equipment when we’re on site. Sometimes a retrofit makes sense, sometimes a planned replacement is the right call, and sometimes the equipment has enough life left to ride out the refrigerant.
